Image
Yet another year is complete and so are our plans. New Year starts with new plans and fresh ideas. In last year we completed many batches of Vedic Math. It benefited many more kids. Some of them started liking math and some others started scoring 100% marks. All in all everyone improved their computational ability. This year we also started many new courses. It includes Vedic Math Level 2. Self-Hypnosis, NLP Weekend Seminar, Vedic Astrology Level 2 and many more… We started sharing our own poems and it was another hit. My wife’s poems were live on 31 st  March on All India Radio and second part of it will be broadcasted in coming weeks. I also conducted weekend NLP seminars and many people got benefitted. Just to tell you a few, one of my clients archived his goal in just 8 days that he was not able to achieve for 1 year and another client doubled her business in just 4 months. Many of our Astrology clients got answers of their questions and were able to move on tow...

Why NLP works? Or Artificial Intelligence (AI) connection of Neuro Lingustic Programming

Image
As a part of my profession, I work on artificial intelligence and deep learning. Artificial intelligence has good connection with Natural Language Processing, which is also called NLP but this post is about connection of Neuro Lingustic Programming and AI.         Recently I was learning about methods applied for object recognition. A method used by neural networks is very interesting. Let me first explain the method in short. If you know NLP then you will certainly able to correlate it with NLP.         A neural net generally has pictures of various objects and it learns from those pictures. For example, suppose we want to teach a neural network to identify a car. Then we are supposed to pass many pictures of various cars. Now let us see how neural net understands a car. A neural net down samples a picture to eliminate all the details to understands a shape of an object. Addi...

NLP: New Year Resolutions

Image
Every year we decide New Year resolutions when New Year starts. Some of us continue for a week and some of us continue for a month. Very few of us achieve their goal and rarely do we exceed them.         As I work with people, I get chance to help them to define their goals and come up with plans to achieve them. NLP is very good at both of them. Well-formed outcomes are a best goal setting and achieving methodologies I have come across so far. My general observation is that when goal are properly defined and plans are well developed using well-formed outcomes we achieve our goals in much less time.         Recently I worked with an engineer on goal setting and plan development. He wanted to achieve something for last 1 year but he was not getting what he wanted. We worked it out with well-formed outcomes and to his surprise, it happened within a week! Interestingly couple o...

NLP: Quickly getting confidence back

Image
Recently I met Maya. She was curious if I can help her with few long-standing challenges. Maya wanted to fix three things, lack of confidence, decision-making and self-esteem. Maya was an engineer by profession. She was working in a multinational and her career was average. She also mentioned that she has insomnia and she takes sleeping pill every day. Maya had few interesting behaviors. It was very difficult for her to say ‘No’ to her friends and relatives. She did not want to take any step in case there are unknowns. It was very difficult for her to make any decisions. It is interesting to see a person whose age is 35+ does not want to make any decisions. Many times behaviors and beliefs are influenced by childhood experiences. It is very important to free the person from such beliefs to be natural. While talking to her I realized that the roots of her behavior are in her childhood. Based on discussion with her, I decided to take her through time trajectory. It was intere...

NLP: And she learnt walking again!

Image
Have you ever seen a baby successfully walking for the first time? It is so much of fun! I have enjoyed it many times. Walking is a daily activity that we do not consider as a skill. When people grow old due to various reasons, they again may face challenges in walking and if they want to walk then it may be a new skill for them.         Recently an old woman of 67 years came to me. She had undergone a spine surgery after which she had challenges in walking. She met me 2 months after the surgery. Doctor has prescribed her physiotherapy for few days and later some daily exercises. Even after 2 months, she was using a walker or assistance. She was also worried if she will be ever able to walk independently. Once or twice, she fell down while walking and that reduced her confidence further.         One good thing about NLP, is the change is fast and persistent . When I thought ...

NLP: The inevitable separation

Image
When anyone is born, he is separated from his mother. This is not a pleasant separation and most of us cannot deal with it. This might be one of the reason babies cry when born. Later, some of us learn to cope up with the separation quickly and some of us take more time. This is a story of Sohan (name changed for obvious purposes) who needed more time to deal with the separation from mother.         Sohan’s mother visited me one day and told me that Sohan used to get dreams that his parents would be separated from him on his fourth birthday. Due to this, he rejected to sleep during nights and sometimes even during daytime. He also wanted to be with his mother for 24 hours. When consulted to a doctor (I think psychologist), he suggested sleeping pills to Sohan, but even after sleeping pills, Sohan didn’t sleep. Later sleeping pills were (fortunately) stopped. After few months, when the doctor made him go throug...

NLP: Story of Mr. Forgetter

Image
Few days back I met Mr. Anand. He is a well-qualified engineer holding good position in a multinational company but he had a challenge in remembering day to day things and he was curious if NLP can help him to enhance his memory. When I spoke to him, he gave some basic examples like forgetting a watch in a meeting room or spectacles at a hairdresser. Other examples he gave were forgetting scheduled meetings and sometimes he used to forget responding to important emails. It’s very easy to fix such things with the help of NLP. We have already seen applications of anchors in last 2 posts and anchors are also helpful in memorization. I have been using them regularly to remember things for quite some time now. I decided to suggest kinesthetic anchors to Mr. Anand. I explained him kinesthetic anchors and told him to create a quick kinesthetic anchor every time he wants to remember something. He agreed to apply the technique and give feedback within 2 weeks. Anand called me after 2...

NLP: And driving on highway becomes fun

Image
Long ago I had seen NLP video where a famous NLP master helped a lady to eliminate fear of driving. He helped her in a session of just 45 minutes and later she could drive well. It was unbelievable for me at that time. Later as I learnt more about NLP, I understand that NLP works so fast that it’s easily possible to eliminate fear in minutes. Recently, I worked with a client who had similar fear driving on Highways. Here is a story of him. For the purpose of hiding identity let’s call him Adi. Adi met me and told that he is not comfortable driving on highways beyond certain speeds. He came with his wife and she said he is generally under stress while driving on highways. He also gets angry on other people in the car or drivers of other vehicles without significant reason so long drives are memorable for some undesirable reason. I decided to go with him on highway. When we started I realized that his body is stiff. I also didn’t see much confidence while overtaking another veh...

NLP: How can you communicate with your kids in public?

Image
Before becoming a father, I had seen people widening their eyes if their kid behaves in a particular way. If that does not work, they go near the kid and whisper in their ears and if even that doesn’t work they would raise or lower the voice. I used to put myself in their place and realize that it is pretty awkward situation. Well, when I became a father; I realized that I am in the same boat and I wanted an efficient way to communicate with my daughter in public.             Being a student of NLP I thought of applying NLP and life. As NLP works well with the unconscious, I thought it might be very effective with kids and yes, my guess was appropriate. I came up with various sound anchors for my daughter. I started with one and reached up to 10. All these sound are from the rhymes that my daughter listens. She loves all of them. I have practiced them with her at home multipl...
